The Paychex Payroll Notification Module is the central cloud component for the secure, standardised and ITSG-certified transmission of all payroll-related notifications to social security institutions. It forms the technical system boundary between the payroll accounting software (Entgeltabrechnungsprogramm – EAP) and the external servers of the statutory health insurance system (gesetzliche Krankenversicherung – GKV) and the Data Processing Centre of the German Pension Insurance Bodies (Datenstelle der Rentenversicherung – DSRV).
Unlike conventional, locally installed communication processes, the Paychex Notification Module is entirely cloud-based, highly available and seamlessly integrated into the payroll architecture.

Paychex Payroll uses the official ELSTER interface for the electronic transmission of tax notifications to the tax authorities. Data are transmitted in encrypted form using ELSTER technology (ERiC).
