Agile and fast cloud payroll processes halve processing time
Managing payroll for 1,000 employees requires both precision and speed. For more than 15 years, BEUMER Group’s Danish division has used Lessor Payroll — and the move to a cloud-based solution has made payroll administration more agile and reduced processing time per payroll run by 50%.

Summary
BEUMER Group A/S is part of an international technology group with 5,600 employees worldwide. The Danish division is known for advanced logistics and transport systems, including baggage handling at airports and parcel handling systems for major players such as Amazon and airports in Toronto, Dubai, and San Francisco.
As a recognized player in a demanding market, operational reliability, strong technology, and a solid service culture are essential — and this is reflected in the choice of payroll system.
No room for errors
BEUMER Group A/S has used Lessor Payroll for 15 years, and Payroll Specialist Per Vestergaard has been part of the journey throughout. He leads a payroll function handling everything from monthly payroll runs to complex bonus schemes, absence registration, and customized pension plans.
“Payroll administration here is resource-intensive. We manage complex payroll runs with many mirror accounts and postings, as well as multiple employee groups covered by different collective agreements. With 1,000 employees and an annual payroll budget of DKK 700 million, payroll is business-critical. There is simply no room for errors — neither in numbers nor in timing. That’s why we depend on a robust and efficient system that can handle our complexity,” says Per Vestergaard, Payroll Specialist at BEUMER Group A/S.
We don’t change for the sake of change. We choose long-term solutions and set high standards. Lessor Payroll has lived up to them for all 25 years I’ve worked with the system — and continues to do so.
Per Vestergaard, Payroll Specialist, BEUMER Group A/S

BEUMER has used Lessor Payroll since the 1990s and transitioned to the cloud version in summer 2023.
“We needed a future-proof solution. The local installation was no longer sustainable. I knew the cloud version could automate tasks, improve response times, and make updates and support easier. I also wanted to avoid relying on external consultants for every update — and we needed more server power to speed up payroll runs,” he explains.
From local server to cloud — without downtime
The transition was smooth: a copy of the payroll database was transferred to Lessor, and within a month BEUMER ran its first payroll in the new cloud solution.
“It was surprisingly uncomplicated and required minimal internal involvement. Everything happened without operational disruption or downtime,” he says.
50% faster payroll processing
Since implementation, BEUMER has achieved several tangible benefits — the most visible being improved speed and IT performance.
“Previously, it took at least 30 minutes to complete a payroll run — today it takes a maximum of 15 minutes. That’s a 50% time saving, simply because we now use Lessor’s high-performance servers. And those 15 minutes even include data simulation to detect errors before payroll is finalized,” says Per Vestergaard.
Additional benefits include automatic integrations with the CPR registry, the Danish Tax Agency (SKAT), and e-Boks. Name changes and tax adjustments update automatically, eliminating manual checks. Reporting to eIndkomst (Danish Tax Authority) can also be sent automatically and independently of NemKonto deadlines.
“It’s also worth mentioning the flexibility,” he adds. “Previously, we often relied on consultants — now we handle much more internally. Small pension adjustments and corrections are easy to manage. The system is clear and user-friendly — and it can do much more than we currently need. It feels secure knowing that Lessor Payroll can scale with our business.”
25 years of reliability and partnership
“Even as a super user, I feel confident that Lessor Payroll always works optimally and never causes unplanned downtime. With the number of payroll runs we manage, reliability is critical,” says Per Vestergaard.
The long-standing partnership is equally important:
“We don’t change for the sake of change. We choose long-term solutions and set high standards. Lessor Payroll has lived up to them for all 25 years I’ve worked with the system — and continues to do so.”
